Don’t you think that meditation can be helpful for patients with anxiety, depression, insomnia, ADHD, etc? But, busy clinicians may not have the time to work on this with their patients. Well, there’s an app for that!
But the problem is that there are hundreds of apps for meditation and mindfulness. If someone would take the time to go through them and just tell us which ones of the FREE apps are the best, maybe we would try a couple.
Karen Reimer, MD and Andrea Dorn, MSW, APSW and their colleagues at the Mayo Clinic Health System waded through these apps, testing a large number of them, and produced a list of the Top 10 Free Self-Help Apps for Meditation and Mindfulness (as of May 2015) that I am presenting here with Dr. Reimer’s permission..
If top 10 is still too many for you, I also asked Dr. Reimer which app she would recommend if she had to pick just one and she said that Stop, Breathe, and Think is one of the good ones to start with.
